LAKESIDE ENT - WHAT IS A REFERRAL
If your insurance plan requires a referral, that means
your primary care physician (PCP) must authorize and approve your
visit to our office. Once your primary care physician determines
that you need to consult with an ENT specialist, your physician
will contact your plan to request approval in the form of a referral.
Your referral must be authorized and approved by your insurance
company BEFORE you visit our offices or you may be expected to pay
for the office visit.
You are responsible for knowing whether you need a
referral from your insurance company and whether you have received
one.
You can check the status of a referral by checking
with us prior to your appointment, or by calling Member Services
department at your insurance company.
